Welcome to the ANGLO-THAI SOCIETY (ATS)

In 2008/09 these included Winter and Summer Receptions (at the Oriental Club and House of Lords respectively), a celebration of Songkran (Thai New Year) jointly with Asia House, and a visit to Taplow Court Buddhist Study Centre.

WEATHER IN LONDON AND BANGKOK SHOW

The ATS works closely in the UK with the Royal Thai Embassy, the Thai Students� Association, Asia House, various universities, and Thai and British businesses. It is linked with organisations in Thailand, including the British Chamber of Commerce (BCCT), the British Embassy, the British Club, the Royal Over-Seas League and the Siam Society.

The ATS maintains an Education Fund to reward Thai students for outstanding efforts in the UK ; and a �hardship� fund to provide limited emergency financial aid to Thai students. On occasion it raises charitable funds, for example for post-tsunami recovery and for orphanages in Thailand.

In addition to the opportunity to meet friends and others with an interest in Thailand�s people, culture, cuisine and business, benefits of membership also include discounts on Thai books at selected outlets, 10% discounts on all meals at Thai Square Restaurants and travel benefits. In addition, there is significantly reduced membership of the Royal Overseas League and attendance at Thai related events at Asia House to the benefits to members.

Membership costs �20 a year for single and �30 for joint membership. There are special rates for corporate membership and opportunities for sponsorship.
