The Anglo-Thai Society once again will be offering Educational Awards for Excellence to support Thai students studying in the UK.
  • The strict deadline for applications is 17th September 2010.
  • The selection will be made by 8th October 2010.
The Society receives a warm response from Thai student-candidates every year and the Education Sub-committee would like to invite all Thai students who feel they might qualify to apply for these four awards, as detailed below. Please use the link below to receive an Education Awards application form.

A. Title of the Awards

The Anglo-Thai Society Educational Awards for Excellence in:

  1. Science, including Medicine
  2. Engineering, including Technology
  3. Humanities, including Social Science
  4. Environment
  5. The Arts, including Architecture, Design and Music

B. Criteria for the Awards

The Annual Awards are for Postgraduate Thai students studying in the UK who have a record of outstanding performance particularly during their time here. Candidates will have to submit the following to be considered for the shortlist:-

  • Brief CV plus photograph.
  • Letter of support from your Academic Supervisor or Tutor.
  • A statement of Achievement, with an abstract of your thesis or dissertation (e.g. publications, conferences attended and other outstanding work /experience during the last 2-3 years of research in the UK). Not more than 2 A4 size pages in total or in CD form.
  • Please also state clearly for which of the above awards you are applying.

D. Nature of the Awards

The awards will comprise a plaque (shield) with the engraved name of the winning candidate, plus a cheque for £300, donated by H.E. the Ambassador of Thailand, the Society and other named sponsors of the scheme. These are essentially honorary awards.

Please note that the formal Award Ceremony will be held at the ATS Reception at the Oriental Club, London on Tuesday, 16th November 2010. The winning candidates will be expected to present a five minute talk and display their work at the Reception.
